Youth Ministry Each month in St. Giles (city) deanery there is a time for young people to come together to celebrate and share their faith at the Gillis centre - an opportunity to participate at Mass, discover new ways of praying, to encounter the living God and to make new friends in the city. The Homeless. Can you spare 2 hours per month to assist at Jericho House, either from 8:30am to 10:30am to set up and prepare or from noon to 1:30pm on Sunday every 4 weeks. Please contact Jim Roarty on 669 0896.

The shop in the Baptistery which provides a variety of cards, religious gifts and books for different occasions is run by our Legion of Mary members - please visit your Church shop and find out what it has to offer!!! It is open after Mass on Saturdays and Sundays, and sometimes also on weekdays.
Gift Aid offerings/donations can be taken out at any time throughout the year and is a valuable source of additional income for St. John's at no extra cost to parishioners. Call Dorothy for more information on 0131 669 5618.

Scottish Churches Housing Action - Supported Lodgings - are asking parishes to help fund-raise in any way e.g. sponsored walks, coffee mornings or other ways. Money raised would be directed to their special fund for this project.
Mass of Thanksgiving to celebrate Silver Jubilee of Cardinal O'Brien's Episcopal Ordination in the Cathedral on 8th September at 7pm. Our parish has been allocated 7 tickets; there will be a draw to select those who can attend.
