By Bus
From the airport - catch one of the 100 buses (they run every 15 minutes) to the town centre, and follow instructions from the city centre.

From the city centre - from the bus stop at Marks and Spencer’s shop in Princes Street take one of the following buses to the town hall in Portobello, where you get off -

Lothian Buses - 15 (daytime only), 26.

First buses - 129 or 66(Sunday only)

Still at the bus stop and facing the town hall, Brighton Place, where the church is, is the street to your left on the other side of the road. You should be able to see the Church tower. Watch out for buses which are part route and do not go as far as Portobello (ask the driver).

By Car

From the South East - Take the A1 east coast road following the signs for Edinburgh until you reach the Milton Road junction (traffic lights, after Musselburgh and Fisherrow), take the coast road to the right. You will pass a large church to your right (St. Phillip's CoS), then St. Mark's Episcopalian to the left, set back from the road, then you will come to a junction where you can see a Bank of Scotland branch and Portobello town hall on the left on the other side of the traffic lights. Turn left into Brighton Place and the first church you come to on the left is St. John's.

From the South West - Take the A7 or the A68 till you reach the Edinburgh city bypass at the Sherrifhall junction. Follow signs for Edinburgh East, Leith or Musselburgh until you reach the Old Craighall junction, then follow iinstructions below. Alternatively, take the A701/A703 or A702 till you reach the Edinburgh city bypass at the Sherrifhall junction. Follow the south side of the bypass going east until you come to the Old Craighall junction, then follow instructions below.

From Glasgow and the West of Scotland - Take the M8 following signs for Edinburgh and then take the south side of the Edinburgh city bypass until you reach the Old Craighall junction, then follow instructions below.

From the North - from Perth, take the M90 south following signs for Edinburgh and cross the Forth Road Bridge. Follow the south side of the Edinburgh city bypass until you reach the Old Craighall junction, then follow instructions below.

From the Old Craighall junction - Follow signs for Edinburgh East or Leith. You should pass ToysrUs and then Asda(Walmart) on the left as you come to a roundabout, where you continue straight on till you come to traffic lights where you turn left on to Milton Road. Turn right from Milton Road into Duddingston Park at traffic lights, and at the next set of traffic lights turn right into Southfield Place which continues into Brighton Place and you will see the Church just after you pass under a railway bridge.
